What is the EB-5 Visa?

The EB-5 visa is an immigration category that grants permanent residency (Green Card) to foreigners who make a significant investment in a commercial project in the United States, creating at least 10 full-time jobs for American workers. It is a direct route to the Green Card for investors and their families.

EB-5 Visa Requirements

Applicant Requirements

  • Make a minimum investment of: $800,000 USD in a Targeted Employment Area (TEA: rural area or high unemployment area) or $1,050,000 USD in any other area.
  • Invest in a real, for-profit commercial enterprise (new or existing).
  • The investment must create at least 10 direct and full-time jobs for U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Funds must come from a legal and verifiable source.
  • Minimum participation as an active or limited investor (especially in regional centers).

Processing Times

  • File preparation: 4 to 8 weeks.
  • I-526E Petition (for regional centers): 12 to 24 months (may vary).
  • Adjustment of status or consular processing: 8 to 12 additional months.
  • Conditional Green Card (2 years): Initially granted, then converts to permanent.

  • Investors who wish to live in the U.S. and have the capacity to invest the required amounts.
  • Individuals interested in a direct path to residency, without the need for a sponsor.
  • Families who wish to emigrate together, with a single investor as the principal applicant.

Can I bring my family?

Yes. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old will also receive the conditional Green Card, which converts to permanent after two years, if the program requirements are met.
